A presidential election will be held in Cameroon in October 2011.



July 11: Cameroon adopts a new law allowing citizens living overseas to cast their vote in the presidential election.

July 5: Top Cameroonian elections official guarantees that the October Presidential Elections will be held fairly and there is need to worry about the elections being rigged.

June 27: US urges Cameroon to hold fair election in October. The move comes after allegations that the Cameroon authorities are stifling the opposition surface.

April 19: Chairman of the Electoral Board of Elections Cameroon, Dr Fonkam Azu'u Samuel says that over 1.4 million new voters have registered with the Cameroon's Electoral Commission to vote in the October Presidential Election.
