Democratic Republic of the Congo General Election, 2011

The Presidential and Parliamentary elections of the Democratic Republic of the Congo will be held on November 28, 2011. The run-off elections was shelved with a change in election laws of the country.


  • Joseph Kabila - incumbent President
  • Vital Kamerhe - Former Speaker of the National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, founder and leader of the UNC party (Union pour la Nation Congolaise)



July 15: More than 30 million people have registered to vote in the November elections. The Independent National Electoral Commission says that it will consider whether to extend the enrollment, as the opposition party says that people haven't been given enough time.
