Rahul Gandhi hints election method for Youth Congress President post

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has brought a major change in the way the party functions when he announced that direct elections will be held in the Youth Congress and National Students Union of India (NSUI). With this, the President of the Youth Congress will not be nominated directly but is instead elected by the members. The Young Gandhi made this announcement addressing the tribal youth at the Adiwasi Melawa in Gadchiroli.

President of India

The President of India is Pranab Mukherjee. His term of office began on 25 July 2012 and will conclude on 24 July 2017.

Vice President of India

The President of India is Mohd. Hamid Ansari. His term of office began on 11 August 2012 and will conclude on 10 August 2017.

Rajya Sabha

There are 245 members elected to the Rajya Sabha. The members are elected for a term of six years. One-third of members retire biannually.

Lok Sabha

There are 545 members elected to the Lok Sabha. The current term began on 1 June 2009 and will expire on 31 May 2014.
