Jim DeMint

James Warren DeMint, popularly called Jim DeMint is the junior U.S. Senator from South Carolina. He is serving as junior Senator since 2005. He is a member of the Republican Party and a leader of the Tea Party movement. DeMint previously served as the U.S. Representative for South Carolina's 4th congressional district from 1999 to 2005.

June 24: Jim DeMint criticizes President Barack Obama's decision to withdraw 30 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Whiie the President's decision is applauded by Democrats, the Republicans criticized it saying that the reserve should be used only in case of emergencies and certainly should not be used for price reduction.
