Pheu Thai Party
The Pheu Thai Party is orginally founded by former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra. The current incarnation of the Pheu Thai Party was founded on September 20, 2008.
It's previous form of People's Power Party (PPP) was dissolved by Constitutional Court of Thailand dissolved in less than three months later after finding party members guilty of electoral fraud. The People's Power Party was itself a replacement for Thakin's original Thai Rak Thai (TRT) party which the Constitutional Court dissolved in May 2007 for violation of electoral laws.

Thaksin Shinawatra controls Pheu Thai from a self-imposed exile in Dubai. His 44-year old sister Yingluck, who is a businesswoman by professions is the party's prime ministerial candidate.
